Opposition DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica on Sunday called on the country's "top ranking and most responsible representatives" to submit their resignations. According to the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia president and Serbia's PM for two terms, this should come "because they are pursuing a disastrous policy of no alternative to the European Union". Opposition party urges resignations In a written statement forwarded to media, Kostunica said that it was "up to a new national government, which the DSS had always urged for, to prepare a good lawsuit before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and to pursue a persistent policy of protecting the state and national interests". Kostunica said he had warned the authorities that after pursuing a wrong policy which has led to an unfavorable opinion of the ICJ, every resolution that is submitted to the General Assembly of the United Nations "might lead to a new and even bigger defeat of Serbia". “Instead of pushing Serbia into greater defeats, this regime should step down because of its disastrous policy of no alternative to the EU, and top-ranking and most responsible representatives should submit their resignations in the interest of Serbia,” Kostunica said in his statement.
