Opposition New Serbia (NS) leader Velimir Ilic has undergone emergency surgery this Sunday. Ilic was operated on in Belgrade's Clinical Center of Serbia (KCS), and is currently in a stable condition. Opposition leader undergoes head surgery His party's Deputy President Dubravka Filipovski told reporters in Belgrade that the consequences of an injury Ilic suffered on Feb. 13 had worsened in the past three days. "After the first check-up in Cacak, it was decided that additional medical examinations should be done in Belgrade, to which he was admitted last night," she said, and added that after KCS doctors consulted, they decided that an urgent operation was necessary. According to a Beta news agency report, Filipovski said that the doctors diagnosed Ilic as suffering from a "subungual hematoma in his head". The NS leader and Serbian MP will remain at the KCS neurosurgical ward for the next several of days.
