Oliver Ivanovic says he is "not sure" the Serbs in Kosovo will "like" the result of the probe into March 17. Ivanovic, who is the leader of the Serb List for Kosovo, and is also running on the DS-G17-SPO-LSV ticket in the upcoming parliamentary elections, was speaking about the request from Belgrade, sent to the UN, to investigate the deadly riots in Kosovska Mitrovica. Ivanovic says "Serbs may not like investigation" FoNet quoted Ivanovic as saying that he believes the United Nations would "anyway have formed a commission to investigate, all the more so since a UN policeman died". "These institutions are not particularly sensitive to the wounding of Serbs, but they always pay particular attention to the wounding, especially with deadly outcome, of their members," he said. Ivanovic also said that he is "not sure" if UNMIK will respond positively to Serbia's request to support the organizing of the local elections in Kosovo. "Local elections fall under UNMIK jurisdiction and they so far organized them three times. Serbs took part only in 2002," he said. "I'm afraid that one month is not enough time to clean up the voter lists and harmonize data," Ivanovic said of the "technical difficulties". "This can only serve as a good opportunity for manipulation by those individuals that wish to gain power," Ivanovic said, and added he "fears the local elections in Kosovo, if they are held, will not be fair".
