Ex-KLA leader says Thaci's name was on war crimes indictment

Geci said that in the indictment included Kadri Veseli, Fatmir Limaj, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.

Geci, who has for years had the reputation of being Thaci's "spearhead", said that "the basic version of the indictment was changed, so it included persons unknown to him."

Geci was the first notable commander of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) arrested by the UNMIK police, which caused quite a stir in Pristina at the time - but was sometime later released.

Currently he is serving a prison sentence for war crimes, and observers in Pristina believe that Geci will most likely also be indicted before the future special court for crimes of the KLA.

Geci, aka "Pritina mafia's Big Boss" and former KLA commander, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for war crimes committed against civilians in two camps in northern Albania.

Geci was one of the founders of the KLA, Hashim Thaci's associate, and a man considered to be "a mafia boss, as evidenced by his wartime nickname Big Boss." In 2001 Geci was sentenced to five years in prison for extortion.
