BELGRADE Three lawyers of Marko Miskovic's company Mera Investment have been questioned about abuses in road construction companies. The three lawyers were arrested together with Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic and his son Marko earliler this month. Prosecutor questions witnesses in case against Miskovic Mera Investment Director Zivojin Petrovic will be interrogated next at the Organized Crime Prosecution. B92 has unofficially learnt that his questioning should begin at 15:30 CET. Nibens Group owner Milo Djuraskovic’s attorney Zoran Ateljevic says that the three lawyers had denied that any illegal operations had taken place. He explained that this was not surprising “because they are respectable lawyers”. The questioning of lawyers Ivan Smiljkovic, Ilija Drazic and Ana Petkovic lasted for about an hour while it is expected that Petrovic's interrogation would take longer. Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic said earlier that four witnesses should be questioned today about the foundation of the Mera Investment company and the sale of shares of the road maintenance company PZP Nis. Miroslav and Marko Miskovic and another eight persons were arrested on December 12 on suspicion of abuses during privatization of road maintenance and construction companies. The Delta Holding owner, his son, Djuarskovic and another four suspects were remanded in custody for 30 days while the remaining three were released pending trial. Radisavljevic recently told weekly Novi magazin that the suspects were accused of abuse of office and illegally obtaining large financial gain. “The case refers to incrimination commonly referred to as ‘severe corruption’, comprising abuses producing illegal material gain of more than RSD 200mn,” the prosecutor explained.
