The trial against former military leader of Serbs in Bosnia General Ratko Mladic will start on May 14, the Hague Tribunal has announced. It was originally planned for the trial to start in late March, but Mladic's defense said repeatedly that the volume of evidence involved would make it impossible for them to meet that deadline. The indictment charges Mladic with bombing of Sarajevo and sniper fire in the city, where thousands of civilians were assassinated and wounded.
