Police in Požarevac, eastern Serbia, arrested a man and charged him with stealing an entire 630 kWh transformer station.

Police in Pozarevac, eastern Serbia, arrested a man and charged him with stealing an entire 630 kWh transformer station. The man was named as 37-year-old Zoran S. Police charge man with "stealing transformer station" A police statement on Monday said he is suspected of stealing the electrical installation in early October in Neresnica, from a quartz quarry owned by U.S. Steel Serbia. According to this, Zoran S. drove to the location "in his freight vehicle with a crane attached", and proceeded to cup up the transformer into pieces and load it onto his truck. Police believe that he then went on to pillage the site, also cutting up and taking with him parts of a bulldozer and a Kamaz truck. The suspect owns a scrapyard in Dobra, where some of the objects he stole were recovered. It is believed that the damage incurred was RSD 3.5mn.
