Police searched the house of Hague indictee Goran Hadzic’s friend in Novi Sad this morning. War Crimes Prosecution has announced that the home of Zoran Mandic aka Mandarin was searched. Police search house of Hague fugitive’s friend The search was finished around noon and police were looking for evidence and leads that would point to persons who are helping Hadzic hide and those who could help locate him. The search was ordered by War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic. Police found about 50 valuable paintings in the house, among them a photograph of Amedeo Modigliani’s painting which is estimated to be worth several millions of euros. It is suspected that the painting belongs to Hadzic and that it was supposed to be sold in order to obtain money to help him stay on the run. Goran Hadzic (Beta, file)

The search was finished around noon and police were looking for evidence and leads that would point to persons who are helping Hadžić hide and those who could help locate him.

The search was ordered by War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukčević.
