This guy worked in warehouse in a communist country prior to entering politics.

He was President of RSK, but a small, fledgling, war-torn republic like that surely lacked the economic strength to enable even its most senior political figures to become wealthy.

He couldn't have made a fortune as an entrepeneur after his warehouse days because Croatian Serbs weren't given the opportunity to prosper in the runup to the disintegration of ex-Yu.

So, how could he afford a painting like this? Is it possible he could have been fleecing his Croatian Serb compratriots -- most of whom were fighting for freedom in the trenches of the barren Dalmatian hinterland?? No!!
