Nis Express bus company will press compensation charges over an illegal arrest of its employees in Kosovo. The three bus controllers were arrested in Kosovo by the Kosovo police, KPS, Nis Express said in a statement on Thursday. Nis bus company to sue over Kosovo detention The company's Legal Sector Director Vladislav Djordjevic told reporters that the three employees had legitimate identity documents, certified travel authorizations and that police “crossed the line at the administrative border of Jarinje when they started checking the bus, which transports passengers from Nis to Kosovska Mitrovica”. The controllers, who were in an official vehicle which was clearly marked, were stopped near the village of Milosevo and taken into the Obilic police station, and then transported to Pristina, after KPS told them that they are “suspected of working for the Serbian Ministry for Transportation”. The Municipal Court in Pristina released them and overruled a request for prolonged detention, Djordjevic underlined, adding that they were originally charged with unauthorized crossing of the administrative line and “false representation”. Nis Express said that they have been maintaining regular bus lines with Kosovo for ten years, and that so far they have not experienced any incidents “of the kind”. Nine years ago, a Nis Express bus was blown up in Kosovo, when 12 people lost their lives.

The company's Legal Sector Director Vladislav Đorđević told reporters that the three employees had legitimate identity documents, certified travel authorizations and that police “crossed the line at the administrative border of Jarinje when they started checking the bus, which transports passengers from Niš to Kosovska Mitrovica”.

The controllers, who were in an official vehicle which was clearly marked, were stopped near the village of Miloševo and taken into the Obilić police station, and then transported to Priština, after KPS told them that they are “suspected of working for the Serbian Ministry for Transportation”.

The Municipal Court in Priština released them and overruled a request for prolonged detention, Đorđević underlined, adding that they were originally charged with unauthorized crossing of the administrative line and “false representation”.
