The investigative judge at the Supreme Court is still reviewing the Djindjic murder case, which the court received in late 2007. Supreme Court spokeswoman Vesna Dabic said that the case had been transferred from the Special to the Supreme Court in December 2007. The case, together with appeals, was then returned to the prosecution for its response, before being returned once again to the Supreme Court in February 2008. Djindjic case gathering dust in Supreme Court The verdict itself was 446 pages in length, and all the documentation from the case had to be taken to the Supreme Court in a van because of its size. Under the initial verdict, delivered on May 23, 2007, Special Operations Unit (JSO) Commander Milorad Ulemek and his deputy Zvezdan Jovanovic were found guilty of the late prime minister’s murder and sentenced to 40 years in jail. Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic was assassinated on March 12, 2003.

The verdict itself was 446 pages in length, and all the documentation from the case had to be taken to the Supreme Court in a van because of its size.
