The Serbian dinar (RSD) strengthened against the euro by 20 paras on Friday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 101.8985 per euro (EUR). This is the new record high value for the Serbian currency this year, the central bank (NBS) announced. Euro now below RSD 102 The dinar hit its lowest value against the euro this year on January 6, when the exchange rate was RSD 106.4947. Since the beginning of 2011, the central bank intervened in the interbank foreign exchange market only once, by purchasing EUR 5mn in order to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate.
