Serbia-Bulgaria gas connection to be discussed

Serbian Energy Minister Petar Skundric and Bulgarian Economy and Energy Minister Traicho Traikov will begin talks for gas cooperation between the countries. The two will sign a statement in Brussels which will be the basis for the planned project of gas connections between Bulgaria and Serbia. Serbia-Bulgaria gas connection to be discussed The statement will be signed in the presence of EU Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger in Brussels on Friday, the Serbian Energy and Mining Ministry stated. The gas pipeline that goes through Nis and over the border crossing near Dimitrovgrad will be the first connection between the gas distribution systems of Serbia and Bulgaria and will be of great importance for gas distribution in both countries and the whole region, the ministry adds. The project is part of the Energy Community Gas Ring concept promoted by the European Commission.
