Serbian Minister of Trade Slobodan Milosavljevic says he lodged a strong protest at the Verona Investment Forum, over Kosovo. His reaction, according to Tanjug, came because the Albanian minister of economy and finance called Kosovo a "country" attractive to investors. Minister stages walkout over Kosovo “Albanian Minister of Economy and Finance Dritan Prifti compared Albania and the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo several times, in regard to attracting investments. I interrupted the conference and lodged a vehement protest,” Milosavljevic underscored. He added that he interrupted the speech and, in keeping with Serbia's official policy, asked to read an official statement, which calls for UN Resolution 1244 to be respected. He left the conference after that, because “there was talk of the so-called state of Kosovo which does not exist anywhere in international law.” “At a meeting with Italian Minister of Economic Development Claudio Scajola I received an official apology for what they called organizational oversights. Of course, we confirmed that we want to continue all projects that we have started in the interest of both Serbian and Italian businessmen,” Milosavljevic said.
