Cadez added that companies may file "a collective lawsuit" against the Croatian government over the damages incurred.

"The situation on the border is to no one's advantage, be it Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and even Austria or Greece," Cadez said at a meeting of the Slovenian Business Club on Wednesday.

Cadez pointed out that a call center team had been set up at the PKS so that companies incurring losses could report them.

"There is also grounds for filing a collective lawsuit over the losses incurred," he said.

Small and large firms could unite around the PKS and the PKS file a lawsuit on their behalf, he said.

"When someone causes losses that you are not responsible for, you are entitled to that (filing a lawsuit). We live in a world where international agreements should be respected," said Cadez.
