Serb Republic (RS) President Milorad Dodik has said that he "accepts help from Serbia and Europe" so that a planned referendum "would not have to be held."

Dodik says he "accepts help from Serbia and Europe"

Dodik said that he spoke with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and believes he has "a good understanding of things."

"We want to return the judiciary to the constitutional framework. Let Vucic and everyone from Europe help us, I accept that. If we do that by the day of the referendum, then the referendum may be meaningless," he said, commenting on Vucic's statement that he found this issue to be "one of the most difficult issues and would like Dodik to reconsider it."

The RS president explained that "everything is done with a purpose, and the purpose of the referendum is to return the judiciary to the constitutional framework."

"If we can do it earlier, I would be very pleased and grateful to everyone, including Vucic," Dodik told reporters in Prebilovci.

He noted that he publicly invited U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia Maureen Cormack - who said the vote would be unconstitutional - to find the article of the Constitution and of the Dayton Agreement according to which the judiciary, the Court and the Prosecution belong to Bosnia- Herzegovina.

Vucic on Wednesday reiterated that he asked Dodik to review his decision to hold a referendum.

"This is for me the most difficult question today, because it is my duty to never show a dose of either personal, or political, or state vanity, to always keep relations between Serbia and the RS at the highest level and I will not say another word about it" - Vucic stated, was asked "whether he received Dodik's letter to authorities of Bosnia-Herzegovina, neighboring countries and representatives of the international community on the occasion of the referendum, and what he thought about it."
