Serbia to export apples to Russia

Mišo Blagojević, coordinator of the Čačak association of fruit farmers, told Beta that the agreement was signed with a private company for the export of first class apples for the coming season.

Blagojević said that the association, which is made up of 24 local fruit growers, will be involved in supplying 1,500 tons of the apples needed.

The first supply of apples going to Russia will be shipped in November. According to the association, the discussions for the export of apples to other countries can possibly end with an offer of exporting 10,000 tons of apples by the end of season.

The association is made up of eight similar organizations from five cities, Subotica, Smederevo, Topola, Čačak and Arilje, and was formed about a month and a half ago.
