Former minister faces more serious charges

The Prosecution for Organized Crime has filed an indictment against former minister Oliver Dulić and his associates for serious abuse of official position.

BELGRADE The Prosecution for Organized Crime has filed an indictment against former minister Oliver Dulic and his associates for serious abuse of official position. If put on trial and found guilty, the MP from the ranks of the opposition Democrats (DS) could be sent to jail from two to 12 years. Former minister faces more serious charges At the beginning of the month, the prosecutor's office filed a bill of indictment against Dulic for a milder form of the criminal act, punishable by up to five years in prison. Further investigation, however, yielded new evidence and hence the new indictment. Besides Dulic, the indictment also names Nebojsa Janjic, an official at the Environmental Ministry during Dulic's term of office as the line minister, and Zoran Drobnjak, managing director of the public company Putevi Srbije. The indictment charges the persons of illegally issuing permits to the Slovenian-owned Nuba Invest company to build optical fiber networks along state roads that are part of the most important corridors.
