“Moscow will not mediate Belgrade-Priština talks”

MOSCOW The Russian government on Friday welcomed the resumption of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and said it would not act as a mediator in the talks. “We did not prepare and we are not preparing to be a mediator in the dialogue of Belgrade and Pristina,” said Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich. “Moscow will not mediate Belgrade-Pristina talks” “As far as the dialogue itself, we can only welcome it and we have said from the start that any solution can only be efficient and stable if Belgrade and Pristina come to an agreement,” he told a press briefing. Lukashevich added that Moscow remained committed to the position that the solution for Kosovo needed to be based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Tanjug
