BRUSSELS European Parliament president Martin Schulz stands by his statement about "the need for the mutual recognition between Belgrade and Pristina before EU entry". This is according to a statement issued by his office on Wednesday. EP President's office says he "stands by statement" "In his statement, he just said the obvious. The president sees the fate of Kosovo and Serbia as future EU member states," Deutsche Welle cited the explanation released by Schulz's office. The release adds that the EP president "would prefer not to comment on what others have to say about this issue". EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule commented late on Tuesday to say that "normalization of relations, not mutual recognition", was a condition set by the EU before Serbia. Schulz, who spoke after his meeting in Brussels with Serbian PM Ivica Dacic, is the first EU politician who has mentioned the need for "mutual recognition between Belgrade and Pristina in the EU accession process", says Tanjug.
