Ethnic Kosovo Albanian opposition parties requested on Thursday suspension of the Belgrade-Pristina talks. They also accused the government of not conducting the dialogue transparently. Kosovo opposition wants Belgrade-Pristina talks suspended At a Kosovo assembly session, deputies also accused the Pristina delegation of avoiding assembly. Democratic Union of Kosovo (DSK) parliamentary group head Ismet Beqiri accused Pristina team head Edita Tahiri of lack of information about effects of the talks and of avoiding assembly. Addressing the assembly, Beqiri requested suspension of the dialogue until the Kosovo government presented a platform for the talks in cooperation with international representatives in Kosovo. It is expected that Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and Tahiri will address the MPs and inform them about the first agreements that have been reached. Opposition Self-Determination Movement MPs and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) pointed out that agreements on freedom of movement, birth records and validation of university diplomas “violate Kosovo’s sovereignty and constitution”.
