The Pacific island-state of Tuvalu has recognized Kosovo, say the Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina. This is the 72nd state that has recognized the UDI made in early 2008, which has been rejected by Serbia. Another Pacific island recognizes Kosovo Tuvalu's population of some 12,000 people makes it one of the least populous countries in the world. The Polynesian island was a British colony that gained independence in 1978.
