Serbs from the Kosovsko Pomoravlje district in the province have decided not to sign contracts regulating payment of electricity. The contracts were suggested by the Kosovo power company, KEK, which has so far disconnected electricity for 13 villages in this district, and announced that all Serb villages will face blackouts starting May 4, unless they sign. Serbs won't sign electricity contracts But a meeting of the district's administration, presided by Dragan Nikolic, and attended by municipal leaders from Gnjilane, Novo Brdo, Kosovska Kamenica and Vitina, decided that the Serbs in these areas will not sign the contracts. Nikolic said that the Serbs instead want the power they consume compensated, with public power enterprise EPS covering their consumption by delivering the given amount to Kosovo's electric system.
