An Albanian language daily today suggests one possible way out of the current impasse over the UN six-point plan. Kosovo Albanian leaders have not accepted UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's plan that would reconfigure the UN mission, UNMIK, and allow EU's EULEX to deploy, but Koha Ditore writes on Saturday that a way out could be for Ban to state that "Kosovo's representatives have rejected the plan", at the same time adding that "they will be consulted over its realization". Solution for six-point impasse at hand? The daily quotes its diplomatic sources when it reports that the marathon consultations between UN, Belgrade, Brussels and Pristina are nearing a solution. "Although there was an impression that the countries of the big five pressured Pristina into accepting the Ban proposal, many western countries also do not find this plan easily acceptable," the newspaper writes. "Ban Ki-moon's report will contain two points that will satisfy the Kosovo side. The report will say that the Kosovo side did not accept the six-point plan, and that official Pristina will be consulted in the implementation of the interim plan," Koha Ditore cited its unnamed source. The same source was quoted as saying that "the problems were created by UN secretary-general's envoy Andrew Ladley who talked only with Belgrade and ignored Pristina".
