Belgrade wants EU to "react, protect Kosovo dialogue"

"After the most recent statements by Pristina officials, I think that it is necessary that officials of the international community - the EU - react," Djuric said, and added:

"A reaction is necessary to preserve the credibility of the dialogue process itself because such statements and announcements do not only ridicule the signatures and the word of Pristina officials, but also the top EU officials in whose attendance the agreements were reached."

However, he said that Serbs in Kosovo "have no reason for concern" due to "such announcements and stubbornness of Pristina officials."

Serbia will continue to be there and help, we will be present through our institutions and nothing will change, Djuric stressed.

Commenting on the demands of the Pristina side, Djuric said that Serbia has been implementing agreements "consistently."

"If you analyze the agreements so far, we have invested a lot of faith precisely in the idea of normalization of relations. We have done much for our part, a huge majority of unimplemented agreements is up to Pristina," he said, noting at the same time that Belgrade "will do nothing to the detriment of its people."

"We are waiting for the international community to react and secure the conditions to implement the agreements. Until that time everything continues as usual. Our support and our presence are not under a question mark, not now, not once the agreements have been implemented," Djuric said.

The Kosovo Office director also said he was in daily contact with Brussels, and that he informed the team of EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini that "these are the signals we expect them to react to."
