Democratic Party (DS) official Dragan Sutanovac says Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic will be responsible for consequences of protests. The SNS on Sunday started holding protests over the alleged election fraud. “Democrats will not accept blackmails” He told daily Blic that Nikolic had once more shown “his true colors by threatening with violence and organizing protests that can put people’s lives at risk”. The DS official said that he expected all politicians and parties to be responsible and accept the election results, adding that the competent bodies should inspect whether there had been any irregularities. Commenting on the agreement with the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) on the forming of the new government, Sutanovac said it was not surprising since the two parties had been cooperating for four years and that both advocated European values and EU accession. “(DS leader Boris) Tadic and our partners on the electoral list do not accept blackmails. Also, nobody came up with any conditions in all the talks we have had so far,” he stressed and said he was convinced that the final agreement on the forming of the government would be reached after the presidential run-off election on May 20. When asked which party was closer to joining the new government, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) or the United Regions of Serbia (URS), Sutanovac said that both parties shared European values advocated by the DS and Tadic and that it was important to form the future government on common principles. The DS official added he was sure that Tadic would win in the second round of the presidential vote on May 20. Dragan Sutanovac Blic Tanjug
