European Commission Vice President Jacques Barrot said that the EU Council of Ministers will approve the proposal for visa abolishment. “Serbia made a great effort and completely fulfilled the criteria from the road map for achieving visa liberalization, so the Council of Ministers will propose definitive agreement on the abolishment of the visa regime at its meetings on November 30 and December 1,” Barrot said. Our wish is to see young people and Serbian citizens in general to be able to travel in Europe for Christmas,” he said. Asked whether the problem, witnessed by the Serbian delegation in Brussels on Monday, when the Kosovo Albanian delegation removed the UNMIK sign, will be avoided in the future, Barrot said that Kosovo should be mentioned according to the UN Security Council Resolution 1244. “What I can say for now is that every time I mention Kosovo, I mention it according to Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, and that is what we should stick to,” Barrot said.
