I did, but this is the proper link:

Please read again and note, the "Kosovo" topic is just an apropos. More important - and what that article is about:

"Incidentally, most of the pressure on Serbia to finally choose the lesser of two evils comes from the European Union - which Serbia is so keen to join. The EU officials are the ones forcing the Serbian government to accept several very unpleasant decisions - recognition of the municipal elections in Kosovo, dissociation from Russia and pullout of joint energy projects with Russia. They are using the good old stick and carrot policy, the stick (the tight visa policy) being very real, while the carrot (the much-desired EU membership) a far-fetched and remote possibility."

Whatever it is, that is the opinion of the author. I can't comment it really because as I think it is not completely off, but not 100% truth either.

Kosova? Arta? Gang?!? Where are you guys to discredit what the European Commission Vice President Barrot says about Resolution 1244??
(stari, 17 November 2009 18:16)

They are still mourning the stinging defeat they got at their government being told that Serbs DO NOT need to use passports to enter Kosovo. I would be silent if I was spanked not once but twice in the same day too:)

MOSCOW. (Dmitry Babich, RIA Novosti commentator) - The November 15 municipal elections in Kosovo can be seen as a turning point in the region's history.

This was the first vote since Kosovo unilaterally declared independence in February 2008, still unrecognized by Russia and a number of other countries. Moreover, these elections were also the first to be held by local authorities alone, without any help from the UN Mission in Kosovo or the OSCE, which virtually ran the place for a long time.

The elections took part with a fairly large turnout of local Serbs at the polls. This by no means eliminates the totally unfair situation in Kosovo, which Russian President Dmitry Medvedev pointed out during his recent visit to Belgrade. When a breakaway region - a self-declared independent state - is given the green light to international recognition by none other than the United States and the EU, this region knows it is as good as being recognized by the whole international community.

According to standards in place soon Kosovo, Albanian and BiH be there too.
(Olf, 17 November 2009 15:41)

That is doubtful that it will be soon... too much corruption and crime coupled with the Islam factor make for delays I think.

Thankyou

"Asked whether the problem, witnessed by the Serbian delegation in Brussels on Monday, when the Kosovo Albanian delegation removed the UNMIK sign, will be avoided in the future, Barrot said that Kosovo should be mentioned according to the UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

“What I can say for now is that every time I mention Kosovo, I mention it according to Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, and that is what we should stick to,” Barrot said."

So we are back to UNSC Resoulution 1244. Thank you.
