Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu says EULEX should be deployed throughout the entire territory of Kosovo. After a meeting with European Commission Director for the Western Balkans Stefan Lene, also attended by EU Kosovo envoy Pieter Feith, Sejdiu said that the work of the UNMIK mission needed to be wrapped up as soon as possible. And EULEX must be deployed and must function on the entire territory,” he stressed. Sejdiu reiterated at the meeting that the Kosovo institutions were determined to have good relations with their neighbors in order to ensure the entire region’s integration into the EU and other international mechanisms as soon as possible. Lene said that the EU intended to help Kosovo, and to deploy the EULEX mission as soon as possible throughout the province. “The Western Balkans is a part of Europe and we are intent on helping the countries of the region meet the standards necessary for full EU integration,” Lene underlined.
