PRIŠTINA -- The Democratic Party of Kosovo and Alliance New Kosovo have reached a coalition agreement at local level.

Hasim Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo received most votes in both parliamentary and local elections in Kosovo two weeks ago, though not enough to form a government on its own.
Nonetheless, the parliament's composition is still unknown, as it is unclear whether the parties will reach an agreement at central level.
The coalition agreement only refers to forming local authorities in those municipalities where the parties have a majority. The second round of municipal elections will take place on December 8.
Thaci told Radio Free Europe that coalition talks on forming the government would be launched once the final results were made official.
