Germany is Belgrade’s most important interlocutor when it comes to the speed of the EU integration process, said Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic. The foreign minister is attending the 47th Munich Security Conference in Germany. FM: Germany important partner He had a meeting with Azerbaijan and Ukraine’s foreign ministers yesterday and also spoke with Swiss president and foreign minister and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. Pointing out that the main topic of all the meetings was “the future of the European process”, Jeremic said that the issue of the speed of the EU integration today had a different meaning than just a few weeks ago due to unrest in Tunisia, Egypt and other Middle East countries. “We mainly talked about the future of the European process, primarily with Germany. Germany is maybe Serbia’s most important interlocutor today within the EU when it comes to the speed of the EU integration process. Our relations are stable, our relations are meaningful, we enjoy Germany’s support on our European path and we will continue to cooperate closely in the future,” he stressed. About 350 foreign ministers, prime ministers, ministers and experts from 70 countries are attending the security conference. The participants are, among other things, discussing the crisis in Egypt and other Arabic countries and general security challenges such as financial crisis and cyber wars.
