Montenegro's Prime Minister Igor Luksic has stated that he would like to embark on a joint project with Serbia during his mandate. The project would "preferably something related to agriculture, tourism or infrastructure", said reports. Montenegro's PM "would like joint project" "One needs to look ahead. Does anyone find Belgrade, Podgorica, the Adriatic Sea or the Danube any different than before Montenegro's independence? No. Our countries have always been connected culturally, historically and economically, and no political era can change that," Luksic told Politika, a Serbian daily. When asked about his anti-corruption plans, seeing that the EU has judged the corruption level in Montenegro to be unacceptably high, Luksic stated that was one of the tasks for the coming period. "Yes, corruption is present, and we should not run from that fact. It remains as one of the tasks, although we have made some progress. Our determination to fight corruption was recognized by the European Commission as well, since their Analytical Report states the Montenegro has moved forward in its efforts to establish a strategic, legal and institutional framework to fight corruption," Luksic argued.
