SRS deputy leader Tomislav Nikolic says “it’s looking ever more likely that the government will go the other way”—i.e., that it will be formed by the SPS and the DS. Nikolic said that the SRS was ready for opposition, as it had been before, and it was clear “what the opposition’s job is,” and said that if the Serb Radical Party (SRS) and Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) “are the opposition, the Democratic Party (DS) will have nothing to look forward to.” Nikolic: Voters will punish SPS Speaking to Fox TV, the SRS deputy leader said that the most interesting policies for him were those of Associated Pensioners’ Party leader Jovan Krkobabic, who was looking for a controlling packet for him to be secure in government. “If the government does not fulfill its goals, then there’ll be resignations and there are no guarantees there,” he warned. He said that in talks with the SRS and DSS, SPS leader Ivica Dacic had “asked to be the sole deputy prime minister,” but that it had not been possible for the Radicals not to have a single deputy prime minister. “It’s easy to think up reasons when you don’t want something. We wrapped all that up very quickly and all we needed was some time to make that government official. But, time is running out. If anyone now thinks that it is easy to pull the wool over their voters’ eyes, they’re sadly mistaken,” stressed Nikolic. The SRS deputy leader said that voters “remember and know how to get even.” “Just don’t let them say in a year or so’s time that the Radicals have stolen their voters, and that we won’t give them back. We’re not stealing anything from anyone, but the Serbian people appreciate politicians not only for what they say during the campaign, but also what they do after the campaign,” he said.
