Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic says he believes that "a new government will be a democratic one". Speaking yesterday, he also underscored that he believed the DS will produce the new prime minister. Tadic: Next PM from ranks of Democrats Tadic said that he would choose the prime minister himself, and that it is "not important whether this will be a partisan personality", but that it is important he or she is "an expert on economy and industry". He stressed that "a coalition between the DSS and DS is always possible if we agree on program goals and sign again the five principles based on which the present government was formed." Disagreement on the five principles, which included closer ties with the EU and defense of Kosovo, was also what toppled the government in March. But Tadic said that he is "ready to a compromise, but with a compromise that would not push Serbia further away from European integrations and defense of the country's sovereignty."
