Russia's first deputy prime minister, Dmitry Medvedev, will arrive in Belgrade tomorrow. Tanjug reported that he will meet with Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, to discuss Kosovo, economic and other bilateral ties between the two countries – allies in the latest crisis over the province's status. Medvedev due in Belgrade Monday The Russian embassy's press office has this Sunday confirmed that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu will accompany Medvedev. The embassy announced the Russian delegation will meet with President Boris Tadic as well. One of the subjects of discussion will be the construction of a part of the South Stream pipeline through Serbia. This is part of a deal that will see Serbian oil monopoly NIS sold to Russian oil and gas giant Gazprom. Apart from his political engagement, Medvedev is also the Chairman of Gazprom's board of directors. Medvedev, who is in the final stages of his presidential campaign for an election scheduled for next Sunday, has been endorsed by President Vladimir Putin, and is likely to win. "Russia is not willing to modify its position on Kosovo and Metohija, which is very consistent," Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Aleksander Alekseyev said Sunday. In an interview with Radio Belgrade, he said that Russia and Serbia must "define what their joint policy will be in the future and which additional steps the two countries should make." Medvedev due in Belgrade Monday

The Russian embassy's press office has this Sunday confirmed that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu will accompany Medvedev.

The embassy announced the Russian delegation will meet with President Boris Tadić as well.
