Egypt's State Security Court has convicted 12 Christians to life in prison, setting at the same time 8 Muslims free in a case dealing with religious violence.

Egypt's State Security Court has convicted 12 Christians to life in prison, setting at the same time 8 Muslims free in a case dealing with religious violence. The Christians were found guilty of "inciting discord in the public and the killing of two Muslims", in April last year in the southern province of Minya, after a fight with Muslim demonstrators. Egypt: Christians sentenced to life in prison The eight Muslims, who stood trial in the same case, were acquitted on charges of possessing illegal weapons and burning dozens of Christian homes and shops after the fight. Egyptian human rights activist Ishak Ibrahim called the verdicts "faulty and unfair." The rulings of the State Security Court cannot be appealed.
