Freezing rain leaves 4,000 homes without electricity

Freezing rain that had been falling all night has left a number of villages in the vicinity of the town of Knjazevac without electricity on Thursday morning.

Freezing rain leaves 4,000 homes without electricity

Serbia's state electricity company EPS said it had dispatched crews to repair the power lines as soon as possible, and that they during the morning finished repairing the damage done to high voltage lines, and were now working on low voltage ones.

The municipality of Knjazevac scheduled a meeting of its emergency situations team for this morning. RTS reported that an emergency situation has been declared in the territory of the municipality.

There have been no power supply problems reported anywhere else in Serbia this morning.
