Belgrade's 76th hotel unveiled

Belgrade is one of the rare cities in the world where the number of tourists has increased compared to last year, specifically, by 14 percent, Mali said during the ceremony.

"Apparently, we are becoming increasingly attractive to tourists as a city. The fact that hotel accommodation capacities are keeping up with that growth is a good thing," Mali said, noting that this was Belgrade's 76th hotel.

The Radisson Blu Old Mill is a project of the Vienna-based Soravia Group, which has been active in Serbia since 2008.

Using a EUR 55 million budget and the remains of the Old Mill (Serbian: Stari mlin), a Belgrade cultural monument damaged in a fire in 1994, the group managed to blend the project design into the existing building excellently.

Manager Toma Svica said the hotel was part of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which has 1,352 hotels in 108 countries around the world.
