The Sunday papers after a long time ignore the Kosovo issue and report about the upcoming presidential vote instead. BLIC—"Mafia has football, tycoons have politicians", says the Democratic Party (DS) main board member Goran Jesic in an interview for the daily. Press: Election campaigns, football "I am ready for the Dakar rally", Subotica's Gabor Sagmajster announces in another headline. Then there's a look at regional issues: "Maria, Victoria's Secret angel", about a Podgorica model and her career. VECERNJE NOVOSTI—The daily dedicates its front page to the ongoing presidential election campaigns, and says in a headline, "For Serbia, with the world", a message from Boris Tadic's rally. Serbia's pharmaceutical industry heavyweight Galenika's director Aleksandar Pravdic is also interviewed, "Medicine too is a brand". Veteran actress Mirjana Karanovic also spoke to the newspaper, in an article headlined, "Love magic". GLAS JAVNOSTI—The daily explores serious issues, energy and football, and also looks at the approaching holidays on its front page. "Russians offer a billion euros for NIS along with pipeline" says one headline, while another reads, "Slavisa Jokanovic new Partizan coach". As for the Serbian politicians' New Year's plans: "Fed up with glamour, they'll stay at home". KURUR—Not ones to give in to the holiday spirit, the tabloid editors are steadfast in revealing what they claim are new details from Serbia's underworld scene. Thus this Sunday, Kurir leads with, "He was hiding in Sofia", when it reports about negotiations between MUP and Dejan Milenkovic, a.k.a. Bagzi, former Zemun Clan member turned protected witness. Partizan's new boss is reported about under, "Jokanovic new Partizan coach". A more creative headline is reserved for an article about the search for one of the Hague fugitives, Stojan Zupljanin: "They looked for Zupljanin under the bed". POLITIKA—The daily is focusing on elections, and reports about ethnic minorities' participation on our country's political life under the headline "The use of minorities". "Tadic: Both Kosovo and Europe", says a Novi Sad DS convention report, while another article quotes the Radicals, "Nikolic: Cabinet is collapsing". More on elections on the front page in "DSS-NS awaits Democrats' answer". PRESS—Finally, the tabloid leads with a story that combines politics and criminal behavior of a particular kind, and reports about several cases of domestic violence perpetrated by Serbia's politicians, under a disturbing headline, "Politicians beat their wives".
