International conference explores religion
Philosopher Tomislav Žigmanov said on the same occasion that ”the abuse of the church and religion for political ends was still frequent in the region.”The conference has gathered fifty young people from Bosnia, Slovenia, Turkey, Germany and Serbia, experts in the fields of humanitiran and intercultural studies.
The aim of the Divided God project is to establish an intercultural dialogue on the role of religion and religious communities in generating and solving problems and conflicts in the post-communist era.
Novi Sad movie director Želimir Žilnik, one of the project’s coordinator, explained that the main idea was to address issues of religious and cultural difference in Europe at present through discussion and debate, raising the awareness of inter-ethnic and inter-religious social contexts and issues.
