The annual Award of the City of Zadar in Croatia was on Thursday given to Ante Gotovina. The former Croatian army general was sentenced by the Hague Tribunal to 24 years in prison for war crimes committed during Operation Storm, which in 1995 targeted the country's Serb areas.
