Ruling coalition candidate wins Bulgaria vote

Rosen Plevneliev is the official winner of the presidential elections in Bulgaria, the Central Election Commission has announced. Plevneliev won 52.58 percent of the votes. Ruling coalition candidate wins Bulgaria vote According to the Central Election Commission, 1,698,136 citizens voted for Plevneliev, a ruling GERB coalition candidate, while 47.42 percent i.e. 1,531,193 citizens voted for Socialist candidate Ivailo Kalfin. Plevneliev won the largest number of votes in Sofia, 277,210, while 177,540 residents of the capital voted for Kalfin. The new Bulgarian president beat his opponent in other big cities in the country – Varna, Plovdiv, Ruse and Burgas. The voting was organized abroad as well.
