The Montenegrin Defense Ministry and the Mojkovac-based TARA company on Wednesday promoted the first Montenegrin-made pistol and assault rifle. Marking five years since the establishment of the Montenegrin Army (VCG), Defense Minister Boro Vucinic said that "weapons have always been the pride of Montenegrins". Montenegro presents locally manufactured weapons Vucinic went on to state that despite unfavorable economic circumstances, a lot had been done in the previous period to equip and train VCG members to be able to perform tasks to the level and with soldiers from NATO and partner countries. The capacity of the factory based in the northern Montenegrin town was put at "1,000 pistols and 1,000 rifles". The company's owners gifted three military and police units with several hundred pieces of the newly-manufactured weapons as a sign of appreciation for the government's support.
