The movement's leader Zvonimir Trusic also called on "veterans and other citizens" to join them. Trusic criticized the Croatian government and the manner it which it treats the country's "national interests and veterans", blasting the policy conducted by the authorities as "capitulatory and treasonous". He also described Brammertz as "a member of the third-class elite that is visiting Croatia, while thinking in their arrogance that they can dominate the Croat people". Trusic also told reporters that he was convinced his stance was shared by most Croats, and that the "subservient government receiving these clerks and so-called important persons does not have the permission from the Croat people for such actions".
