The Historical Srebrenica Project non-governmental organization has announced legal action against the UN and the Netherlands. However, the NGO wants to bring attention to the Serb victims in Srebrenica, even though when this eastern Bosnian town is mentioned, the prominent issue is the genocide of over 8,000 Bosnian Muslims, or Bosniaks, by Bosnian Serb forces. Serb NGO files charges against UN, Holland It announced that the charges will be pressed for failing to protect Serb civilians in the region during wartime. After an international symposium in Banja Luka dedicated to the events in Srebrenica during the 1992-95 war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the NGO's President Stefan Karganovic told journalists that the Bosniak victims cannot be denied, but and that issues that have not been discussed need to be talked about. “The other side which we want to stress, which has been ignored up until now, is the story of the Serb victims during the war in the Srebrenica area between 1992 and 1995,” he said. Karganovic added that the NGO's goal is to uncover the truth of what happened during the war in the various municipalities of the Srebrenica region.
