Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday received Russia's Ambassador Aleksandr Chepurin, the presidency announced in a statement.

According to the statement, they discussed political dialogue and economic cooperation between Serbia and Russia, in particular in the energy sector, as the connecting tissue for all branches of the economy.During the conversation, Vucic said that Serbia will protect its national and state interests in international relations, as well as its independence and sovereignty in decision-making and freedom as the highest value of the nation's heritage, the statement said.
