Dacic and Lavrov see "outstanding relations in all areas"

Serbia's Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic met on Friday in St. Petersburg with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Dacic and Lavrov see "outstanding relations in all areas"

Dacic and Lavrov "expressed satisfaction over the outstanding relations between the two countries and peoples in all areas."

Dacic "Dointed out that Russia is one of the most important strategic partner of Serbia and that Belgrade is grateful to Moscow for its support in international organizations on the issue of Kosovo."

The Serbian minister also recalled that he said at the opening of SPIEF on Thursday that "friends remain friends, and our country will never impose sanctions on Russia."

Dacic also said he hoped Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, as well as Lavrov. would soon visit Serbia.

Lavrov "confirmed that Medvedev plans to visit to Serbia, and will do so in the foreseeable future."

He also thanked Dacic for the stance he presented, and the official position of Belgrade.

Lavrov announced that Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin would arrive in Serbia on Monday, June 5.
