Tear gas has been thrown once again in the Kosovo Assembly in Pristina, while a large number of police were deployed outside the building ahead of the sitting.

Sitting of Kosovo Assembly again disrupted with tear gas

The opposition Self-Determination said earlier that an incident occurred at the entrance to the building when the party's former leader and member of the assembly Albin Kurti was "pelted with eggs."

The party accused "plain clothes policemen" of doing this.

Inside the building, the sitting was interrupted shortly after it began, when tear gas was thrown after opposition representative Viser Imeri spoke.

The opposition in Kosovo has been blocking the work of the assembly for half a year now as it is opposed to the agreement on the Community of Serb Municipalities and to another, on border demarcation with Montenegro. Tear gas was used inside the assembly hall on several occasions.

Assembly President Kadri Veseli, who was in Brussels on Thursday, said that the issue of the election of Kosovo's president will not be on the agenda today.

The president is elected by the assembly, and the only candidate mentioned is Hashim Thaci, who heads the PDK party and is currently the foreign minister.
