"President and prime minister clash openly"

"It is obvious that the conflict is too great and that it is actually a conflict between two almost textbook characters, a man who is at the moment the most powerful - the prime minister, who has all the power in his hands, and the former president of the party (SNS) who became the president of the republic," Vladimir Goati told the Beta agency.

According to him, "friendships mean very little in politics and last only until one of the friends thinks he is less satisfied with something."

"Politics is a cruel activity where emotional ties do not have a big influence," Goati added.

In his opinion, the balance of power is such that the prime minister has all the trump cards, while the president "truly" serves only as decoration.

"The president is a man who has the most support and trust, but in terms of relations of power he certainly loses," said the analyst.

His comments came after Zorana Mihajlovic criticized Nikolic in an interview, to prompt a reaction from Stanislava Pak, who accused the minister of taking part in "a campaign of lies" against the president.
