SNS wins in early local vote in eastern town
According to this party's data, the Democratic Party (DS) has won 23.58 percent, while the Socialist Party received 17.11 percent.According to the parties that competed, the turnout was around 58 percent. The reports said that the SNS on Sunday won three times more votes in Majdanpek compared to the local election held there in 2012.
There have been no incidents during the voting, while a group of citizens, made up of, among others, representatives of the NDS, LDP, and URS parties, filed a complaint with the election commission, claiming that ballot papers were not printed in the way prescribed by law.
The chairperson of the commission told Tanjug that the complaint would most likely be rejected as it was filed after a legal deadline.
More than 18,000 citizens were eligible to vote.
